Jakarta, 1 May 2023 - The Musical Series Payung Fantasi which was inspired by the musical works and life of music maestro and national hero Ismail Marzuki, which was broadcast in 2022, succeeded in gaining high appreciation from the public with more than 40 million views on the YouTube IndonesiaKaya channel. Last Thursday (27/4/2023), the musical series presented by www.indonesiakaya.com in collaboration with Garin Nugroho and BOOW Live also managed to get a Gold award in the category of Best PR Campaign: Entertainment in the MARKETING-INTERACTIVE PR AWARDS event. held at the Island Ballroom of Shangri-La Singapore.
MARKETING-INTERACTIVE PR AWARDS 2023 is the definitive award for PR practitioners throughout Southeast Asia, South Asia and Australia - New Zealand. This event has been held for over a decade by MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, a leading advertising, marketing and media intelligence company in Asia with coverage across Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand. This year, there are 42 categories, each consisting of three winners, namely Gold, Silver and Bronze, assessed by an independent jury consisting of industry leaders and senior communications experts.

The category reading and awarding was carried out by Ananya Mukherjee, Global Communications Director, Narrative & Content Cargill and received directly by Billy Gamaliel, Program Manager of www.indonesiakaya.com along with the Payung Fantasi Musical Series production team. In the Best PR Campaign: Entertainment category, www.indonesiakaya.com is up against National Geographic Asia with the Silver award, and Marina Bay Sands with the Bronze award, apart from that there are also several other finalists such as Orchard Turn Developments, PETRONAS, and Tune Talk.
Best PR Campaign: Entertainment is a category that involves media members to increase awareness of entertainment products which can include films, TV shows, music, concerts, books, newspapers, sporting events, and so on. In this category, the jury looks at the role and contribution of communication in a campaign strategy that is able to outline creative and innovative elements, successful execution, and is able to prove the campaign's ability to increase public awareness in the media.
The production process for the Payung Fantasi Musical Series went through a long process that started in January 2022, starting with the online auditions of Mentjari Bang Maing and Djoewita, attended by 250 registrants from various regions outside Java such as Bali and also covering Eastern Indonesia. After carrying out a hybrid audition process, 29 participants were selected to participate in the production of the Payung Fantasi Musical Series.
Apart from visual displays that are pleasing to the eye, the ears of Indonesian music and art lovers will be entertained with various works by Ismail Marzuki which will be displayed in 6 episodes of the Payung Fantasi Musical Series. More than 25 works by this Indonesian maestro will be performed beautifully by the players, such as Far from the Eyes, Payung Fantasi, Juwita Malam, Where Does Asmara Come From, Gagah Perwira, Indonesia Pusaka, A Pair of Mata Bola, Sabda Alam, and so on. Not to forget the song "O, Sarinah" which was one of the first songs written by Ismail Marzuki written in Dutch which became a symbol of the life of the oppressed Indonesian people in the colonial era as well as being a tribute to the simple lives of the people.
